GrameenShikkha-GSRD Vocational Skills Training Project
The GrameenShikkha-GSRD Vocational Skills Training Project aims at providing short-term vocational training to 4,624 young men and women over a period of four years startting from the year 2022. The project is funded by the GSRD Foundation, Netherlands. Training is provided at the GrameenShikkha Vocational Training Center in Savar Town of Dhaka. Students under this project arereceiving vocational training in electrical house wiring, fan-motor rewinding, industrial electrical wiring, industrial sewing (garments machine operating), dressmaking and tailoring, garments machine mechanics, computer applications and graphics, the Internet, spoken English, motorbike repair etc. Approved by the NGO Affairs Bureau of Bangladesh Government,the project had a budget of BDT 1.045 crore for the year 2022, and another 81.00 lacs for the year 2023. A total of 1,207 youths received vocational training during 2022.
